 Cora’s Quilt

I decided before I quit longarm quilting I needed to make at least one quilt for my new grandson and 3 great grandkids.
First one to get on the machine is for Cora.  She is my only little great granddaughter and I wanted to make her a flower garden.  It is made with reproduction 30’s feedsack fabrics.  Hexagons and butterflies, called Mamaw & Cora’s garden.

It’s slow going because of the amount of quilting and my lack of time working on it.  But hopefully it will be done soon.

I have started working on one quilt for one of the boys.  A log cabin from mainly Thimbleberries fabric scraps.  It is really a slow process but cutting with my Accuquilt log cabin die really helps.

 Finally finished!

I taught a class years ago on making a Lone Star Quilt.  I got the class top done, put it in the closet.  Years later, I quilted the top and put it back in the closet.  I finally put the binding on the quilt!  It is a monster of a king size quilt.  I had made it for the guest room bed.  I no longer have that bed, so now it goes back in the closet..lol.   But it’s finished!

My grandmother told me that I was born in the wrong century and she was so right!  She said that when I was coming in from the garden with my dress tail full of garden produce and herbs.

I love doing anything handmade including weaving, quilting, bobbin lace, wood burning, gardening, rug hooking and about anything that is from time past.   I credit my love of trying new hobbies to helping never be lonesome or bored and saving my sanity.  I consider it art not crafts…..creating art!

I love watching Townsend and Sons, going to Williamsburg and living museums.  Love reading blogs about homesteading, homemaking and crafts.

Some of my favorite blogs are:

I mainly eat vegan and love https://eatplant-based.com/   Lots of great recipes.

I have had a blog before but eventually stopped writing because life got in the way.  Hope I can get it going again!
